Bruce Bherman had a quintessential array of early ‘young boy’ influences: Thelonious Monk, Art Tatum and Garner, favorites of his fathers, to his mother’s musical idols, Jim Reeves, Nat King Cole and Johnny Cash, even his sister’s love of the French pop stars in the sixties.
His personal influences thou range from Nick Drake, Bert Jansch, Tim Buckley, Traffic, John Martyn to contemporary and electronic sounds (Brian Eno, Cage, Riley, Boulez), which are prominently present in Attitudes and Two Boys.

So how does Mr. Bee really sound like? It is very personal music in which everyday life, with its sounds and beats, co-mingles with his love of art, architecture, and visuals. His latest “UNTAGGED” (on vinyl only) is a homogenous, witty and tight amalgam of sounds and was recorded live at the JET in Brussels with additional recording and mixing @ the Beechhouse in Nashville by Mark Nevers (Galexico, Lambchop, Andrew Bird, a.o.)

Bruce is a sweet ‘persona eclectica’ with a strong foothold in rhythms, world sounds, electronics and live progrock. And in the unsolicited words of a myspacer: “Bruce Bherman kicks ass and takes names later”. His personality and originality moves effortlessly and without any hesitation through his newest 2CD ‘Untagged Friends’ and the back catalogue, the ltd. edition vinyl Untagged however and without a doubt, should be added to the music collections of anyone seeking an original and fresh sound..
